About the RAK Roofrack Product
Design - Quality is our first priority and it starts with design. There are plenty of sports racks on the market so we had to be sure that ours were better. We started with the cross bars. Our competitors reckon that any bar with rounded edges is aerodynamic. We beg to differ. Our designer was involved in yacht mast design for Australia's Americas Cup challenge and was able to put the Boeing aircraft Cray supercomputer to work to achieve the ultimate combination of strength, aerodynamics, drag and noise. The result is the quietest, strongest and most efficient cross bar you can buy. It's so good that, like the aerofoil wings on F1 racecars, it will actually improve the roadhandling of your vehicle.
Versatile - There wasn't much point in making a strong and durable roof rack system if it
only had to last as long as your next car. RAK's unique telescoping crossbar means that your roof racks can go with you whenever you change vehicles. Depending on vehicle
style, you may need to purchase a fitting kit to adapt the rack ends to a different roof/gutter style. If you have more than one vehicle, the fitting kits let you change from one to another.
Strength - When we made RAK strong, we may have overdone things a little. In most cases, your vehicle
roof load limits will stop you long before your roof racks are troubled. Our cross bars have been tested to 100kg point load without flexing. And that's just a single section. Of course where the two telescoping
sections overlap, the strength increases. The bar ends have a break point in excess of 400kg.
Tests - RAK sports racks have been tested to all applicable Australian and German TUV standards.
Construction - The crossbars are high-grade black-anodised aluminium extrusions. The end mounts are moulded from glass filled nylon. Gutter/roof straps
are heat-treated steel for maximum strength, polypropylene coated for adhesion and durability. All screws and fittings are plated, coated or stainless steel for corrosion protection.
Awards - Independent evaluation is the only way to make sure that a product is as
good as you think it is. So we sent our racks to the Australian Design Council for a searching examination of style, construction and function, and came away with a Design Award.
Easy fitting - Your RAK system is sent to your door fully-assembled and ready for the vehicle you have
nominated, no matter what its style. Gutters, gutterless or rail mount, RAK will come in exactly the configuration that you need for easy do-it-yourself installation. |
