When roof rack crossbars cannot be spaced sufficiently apart for your bike, (typically 980mm), the fore and aft Rail Extension mounts onto the crossbars and allows the Bicycle Clamp Set (Part #02112) to be used with the rear wheel clamp located behind the rear crossbar on top of Rail Extension.
